Following the draw for the 2018 Total Women AFCON slatted for kickoff on 17th November in Ghana, Black Queens coach Bashiru Hayford has boldly disclosed that international friendlies are not necessary for his side.
The Black Queen were handed a tough Group A with Cameroon, Algeria and Mali as their group opponents.
With the other countries playing international friendlies to test their strength, Coach Bash believes that is not the yardstick to win the tournament.
“I’m not worried at all for not playing international friendly games. If you are to write international exams, you still stay at home and prepare.
“You don’t need to go to London or Jamaica to learn there. So I don’t have a problem at all,” he boldly said after the draw.
Ghana will have to compete strongly to ensure their ‘Host and Win’ slogan becomes a reality.
