Ridge City Women’s Football Club and University of Ghana Striker Faraday announced her presence in the first game against UPSA with a stunning haul in a 5-0 win for UG.
Officially born as Fumey Kafui Dorcas, Faradey wrote her name into the annals of the competition by scoring four goals in just 26 minutes to punctuate the hapless UPSA students.
The religious striker registered her name on the score sheet in the 7th minute through a sport kick before adding a quick hatrick in a space of 8 minutes. A goal each on the 25th, 29th and 33rd minutes won her the Most Valuable Player gong as well as the match day ball in the one sided game.
In an exclusive interview with 442gh.com, Faraday said, ” I am grateful to God for this victory against UPSA. Big ups to my teammates for their contribution in helping me to get on the score sheet with 4 goals out of the 5-0 win. I trained very hard with My football club Ridge City proud to this tournament. I know is team work that made it possible to get the win, thanks to the coach. I feel very proud of myself and the entire team”.
She added, “the ultimate goal is to win a medal for my team. Personally to give out my best for the success of the entire team. The sole aim of every striker is to score in every game to win golden boot. It is my hope to win the golden boot and I’m really looking forward for that by putting in the very best to make that possible. She concluded.
University of Ghana will be coming up against KNUST in the second game of the championship on Monday January 13, 2020 at exactly 07:00 am at the main park.
The Ghnaa Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games which started on 3rd January will end on the 19th January.
