Despite being temporarily suspended from England’s squad, Manchester United and Manchester City youngsters Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden have made the cut for the 40 players vying for Europe’s Golden boy award.
The two players were named in the 40-man shortlist released. They are joined by several top names including Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. Jodan Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Silva Rodrygo, Bukayo Saka and Vinicius Junior.
Other players to have made the list are; Alphonso Davies, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Eduoado Camavinga.
Dutch forward of Ghanaian descent Myron Boadu has also been named in the list.
However Ghana international Mohammed Kudus who joined Ajax after his impressive output for Danish side Nordsjælland missed out on the top 40 shortlisted players.
The list will further be slashed down in the coming weeks until the final three who will eventually vie for the top award.
