MATCH REPORT: Uruguay 0-5 Ghana – Mukarama grabs hat trick as Ghana maul hosts in FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

Black Maidens skipper Abdulai Mukarama inspired her charges with a wonderful hat trick as Ghana avenged Luiz Suarez’ HAND OF GOD in the 2010 World Cup with a 5-0 mauling over Uruguay in the Group A opener of the ongoing FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

Fuseina Mumuni and Millot Pokuah grabbed the other two goals to complete what could serve Uruguay a proper meal of vengeance.

Fuseina broke the virginity of the game after 20 minutes following a wonderful run by Mukarama Abdulai in an amazing build-up to give Ghana the lead.

Mukarama outjumped her markers five minutes later to grab her first of the night to increase the lead for Ghana after Grace Animah tailored a brilliant cross from the left side of the Uruguayan defence.

Ghana took the two goal lead to the break but without first goal scorer Fuseina who was forced out after a collision with Uruguay shot stopper Jennifer Sosa.

Ghana returned from the break determined to score more as if the game had just started.

Substitute Millot Pokuah increased the tally in the 66th minute before Mukarama added her second and third in the 78th and 91st minute to complete the 5-0 mauling of the hosts.

Ghana will take on Finland in the next group game on Friday at 19:00GMT
