5th Annual Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup launched, with a call for Peaceful Ramadan

 

The Annual Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan cup has been launched at the Holiday in Hotel in Accra, with the call on participating zongos to ensure peace prevails during, and after the competition.

The Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan cup, in its 5th year has seen zongo communities in and around the country competing in a football tournament to determine the champion.

This year’s lunch was attended by Minister of State in the office of the vide president Hon. Boniface Abubakar Sadique, Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah, and his Assistant Ibrahim Tanko.
Also at the event were representatives from the chief Imam’s office, and marketing manager for Nasco electronics, sponsors of the competition, Madam Adiza Ibrahim Sadiq.

 

Winfred Osei Kwaku of Tema Youth football club was also present to support the event.

Launching the competition, Hon. Boniface Abubakar Sadique called on participants to the high level of standards the competition has attained over the years, he said, the Vice president was full of support for the competition, and was excited to be part of it.

This years event kicks off on June 8, at the newly constructed astro turf in Madina.
