General Captain of Aduana Stars FC Akuoko Emmanuel has finally revealed the reasons for his much publicized failed transfer to Asante Kotoko SC.
The stoutly built central defensive was set for a sensational switch to the Baba Yara Stadium after over 10 years of unforgettable experience at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa only for the deal to collapse on the negotiations table.
Having played a pioneering role for the Fire Boys since their historic 2009 honeymoon debut in the Ghana Premier League, Akuoko remains one of the division’s list committed players in recent years.
Speaking on Otec FM, the hardworking utility player opened up on why he opted to stsu with the Fire Boys.
“I was approached by Kotoko two to three times but Aduana’s offer was far better than Kotoko so I decide to stay. Aduana football club has really helped me a lot in my football career”, the evergreen defensive pillar revealed.
Akuoko played for the Fire Boys in their 2009 triumphant campaign and has since gone on to win a number of domestic laurels including the 2017 Ghana Premier League trophy.
