Black Stars trainer James Kwesi Appiah has identified the 2019 pre-tournament preparation as the best in his entire life in International football as they prepare to take on Benin in the opening matches of the championship.
The Ghanaian tactician highlighted the collective belief and unity around the team as the nest he has witnessed in his 8 major campings as a coach before any tournament.
With the Black Stars set to take on the Squirrel of Benin in their tourney opener, Kwesi Appiah opted for team glory rather than the cosmetic captain issue around the team
The Nomadic Ghana spoke the media ahead of Tuesday’s clash with the Squirrels and remains confident his charges will floor their opponents.
“Captaincy is nothing. The most important thing is to have unity in camp and I think this is the best camp I have ever witnessed in my 6 or 8 camps with the national team”, Coach Kwasi Appiah told the media.
Ghana have not won the AFCON since 1982 and are bent on ending that 37 year old continental hoodoo.
