AFCON 2019: Unlucky John Boye Picks Tournament First Red Card, Set to Miss Cameroon Clash

Ghanaian defender John Boye became the first player to pick a red card in the ongoing TOTAL AFCON when he was sent off against the Squirrels of Benin in their four goal treat.

The 32-year-old added to a first half caution in the 55th minute to pick the first expulsion of the tournament and is set to miss the clash with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the decisive game.

The France-based guardsman went into the books of the referee after a horrible tackle on Benin midfielder Sessi D’Almeida on the 37th minute and was sent off for perceived time wasting.

John Boye has been capped 61 times for Ghana with 6 goals to his credit as a center back.
