AFCON 2021: Skipper Andre Ayew Joins ‘African Hall Of Fame’

Ghana’s skipper Andre Ayew has joined an elite class of footballers in the African continent after notching his first goal in the ongoing AFCON.
The Ghanaian talisman inked his name into the score sheet for Ghana’s opener against Gabon in an eventful 1-1 thriller in group C.
The goal powered Andre Ayew into an elite class of footballers in the continent to have scored at six different AFCONs.
The 30-year old attacker joined Samuel Eto’s, Asamoah Gyan and Kalusha Bwalya as the elite quartet of players to have registered at least a goal in six different tournaments.
The goal also sent Andre Ayew further away his Ghanaian compatriots at the AFCON scoring chart.
He has now scored 10 AFCON goals from 33 attempts to stay atop as the highest scoring Ghanaian in the continental fiesta.
