Andrew Andre Features as Struggling Fenerbahce Crashes Out Of Europe With 3-1 Defeat In Russia

Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew ended his continental campaign with a damaging  3-1 defeat at the hands of Russian side Zenith St Petersburg in the UEFA Europa League last 32 ties.

The Fenabache attacker enjoyed another 90 minutes of frustrating football at the Saint Petersburg Stadium thanks to brace from Iranian strike Sadar Azmun for the host.

Ayew and Fenabache teammates headed into the fixture on the backdrop of a 1-0 lead in the first leg but saw their lead vanished into thin air just 4 minutes into the return leg.

Mohammed Ozdoev opened the scoring for Zenit Saint Petersburg after a dream start by the host to peg the tie at 1-1 with 86 minutes left to play for in regulation time.

Inspirational Iranian forward Sadar Azmoun doubled the lead for the host with barely 8 minutes to recess in what will turn out be one of the most the decisive goals in the tie.

Turkish forward, Mehmet Topal halved the deficit for his struggling visitors five minutes after Azmoun’s goal to leave the first half at 2-1 on the night and 2-2 on aggregate.

Sadar Azmoun then decided the destiny of the visitors with a fast break counter attacking goal to oust Fenabache from the European showdown.

Andre Ayew lasted the full throttle for the visitors as they crashed out of the Europa league with a 3-2 aggregate defeat.

Fenabache will now channel their attention towards this weekend’s blockbuster clash against third place Besiktas as they seek to move away from the relegation wavy line.
