Arsenal have been boosted with the chase for Thomas Partey after the sale of Emiliano Martinez.
The Gunners farmed Martinez to Aston Villa for £20million and have now been able to raise funds in their bid to sign the Ghana star.
Partey has been on Arsenal’s wishlist for some time now but the English side have been unable to pull out a deal due to Atletico Madrid’s high demands for the player.
The Spanish Club are only willing to do business with Arsenal should the latter meet up the player’s £45million release clause.
Despite attempts to offer Matteo Guandozie as part of the deal plus a slashed offer of £25million, the Spanish power house have remained reluctant to release the midfielder.
With £20million now available in their coffers from the sale of Martinez, the English FA Cup Champions are now set to open up a fresh negotiation with Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile Mikel Artata is planning to offload several fringe players to raise enough funds with Sokratis, Lucas Torreira, Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Sead Kolasinac all up for sale.
Alexandre Lacazette and Matteo Guendouzi have also reportedly been transfer listed by the Club.
