Arsenal have turned their attention on former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho after an attempt to sign Thomas Partey proved futile.
The Gunners seemed to have opted out of Partey’s transfer after Atletico Madrid rejected a €25million plus player deal.
Reports say the English Premier League side are not willing to spend more on the Ghana International.
They have now turned their focus to Barcelona outcast Coutinho who has reportedly opened talks for a possible Premier League return.
Coutinho could arrive in London should Arsenal and Barcelona agree on a fee, a deal which could also include French youngster Matteo Guendozie.
Partey was a prime target for Arsenal before the end of the season having impressed at Atletico Madrid.
Meanwhile the Spanish Club are said to have tabled a fresh offer for the Ghana International who still has three years left on his current contract with the Club.
