Goalkeeper Alex Runarsson has joined Arsenal on a four-year contract.
Arsenal announced the acquisition of the goalkeeper from French Club Dijon.
The 25-year-old comes in as a back up option Bernd Leno following the exit of Emiliano Martinez who left for Aston Villa.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Alex to our squad. We have been monitoring him for some time and from the analysis, he has strong attributes that we look for in a goalkeeper and as a person,” Arsenal Sporting director Edu said.
“We want to create healthy competition for places and we look forward to seeing Alex bring further depth to the goalkeeping position, “ Manager Mikel Arteta also added.
He joins the likes of Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, Tim Akinola and Salah-Eddine who all arrived at the Club this season.
