Arsenal to sign 22-year-old Houssem Aouar for £36.5m ahead of long-term target Thomas Partey

Arsenal are planning to raid the camp of Olympique Lyon to sign Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners look to have found an alternative for Ghana’s Thomas Partey whose deal have failed to materialized due to Atletico Madrid’s demands.

Atletico Madrid will accept nothing less than £45million for the 27-year-old, an amount which have kept the English Club in a tight spot after the La Liga side also rejected swap deals from the English FA Cup holders.

Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta seems fed up with the situation hence turned to Houssem Aouar who is just 22.

An amount of £36.5million will be offered for the French youngster who is expected to step in to bolster the Gunners midfield.

Manchester City and Juventus were all said to have keen interest in the former France U21 star but Arsenal have gone a step further by formally presenting an offer on the table.

Olympique Lyon are most likely to accept the deal for the midfielder.

The English Club could end their interest in Partey should they be able to finalize a deal with Aouar.
