Arteta Responds To Mesut Ozil’s Twitter Posts During Arsenal’s Win Over Rapid Vienna

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has lauded ousted star Mesut Ozil’s positive attitude during the club’s Europa League opener on Thursday night.

The Gunners came from a goal down to win 2-1 away to Rapid Vienna, with David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting the goals.

Ozil though caught the eye of many fans, following his Twitter comments before, during, and after the match.

The playmaker was left out of both the Europa League and Premier League teams, virtually bringing his Arsenal career to an end.

He, however, supported the team with a series of tweets during the game, and it impressed the Spaniard tactician.

“This is great!” he said after learning about Ozil’s comments, after the game.

“This is what I want from all the players that aren’t in our squad. I didn’t expect anything different to that, so it’s good to hear,” he added.

Arteta further indicated he was not bothered by the attention given to Ozil, despite not being in the team.

“It’s normal that people want to know and fans want that information and you have to ask the questions. So I take it in a natural way, I try to respond with honesty and clarity and give the information that is available from the inside,”

Here are Ozil’s series of tweets on the night.
