The ‘Porcupine Warriors’ arrived in Accra on Sunday morning ahead of their trip to Congo this morning for the second leg game of the CAF Confederations Cup match against Club Athlétique Renaissance Aiglon of Congo.
Kotoko win the first leg 1-0 last Sunday at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi thanks to a 93rd penalty by striker Yakubu Mohammed.
But the real talking point of that game was the number of penalties wasted by the Kumasi based Club. Before Yakubu’s penalty goal, Kotoko were awarded three penalties all of which were wasted by Sadick Adams, Amos Frimpong and Baba Mahama.
Head coach Steve Pollack is not leaving anything to chance as he took the team through the art of perfecting their abilities to score from the spot. It was a fun filled segment of their training, but players learnt a lot and it is believed that should any more penalties pop up in Congo, they will do justice to it.
The entire contingent will leave Accra this morning for Congo ahead of their match on Wednesday.2018-02-19 00:44:40Asante Kotoko
