Asante Kotoko will face their regional rivals in a blockbuster derby at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday, June 6.
The Porcupines will need nothing but a win to claim top spot from arch rivals Hearts of Oak who will be caught up in an Accra derby later today.
Kotoko are unbeaten in their last five league games but winless in their last three, all ended in a draw.
Hence, head Coach Mariano Barreto will look to present a strong team for this afternoon’s week 28 fixture.
However, the Portuguese trainer has quite a number of absentees due to injury and National assignments.
First choice goalie Razak Abalora is out with the Black Stars while preferred left back Imoro Ibrahim is also with the Ghana U-23 in Japan.
Andy Kumi who the manager would have counted on him up front has unfortunately picked up an injury and thus has been ruled out.
Luckily for Barreto, Black Stars head coach, Charles Akonnor released Ismail Ganiu upon the club’s request to have the defender for the crucial encounter.
Here is how Asante Kotoko could line up for the derby.
Felix Annan; Christopher Nettey, Ismail Ganiu, Yussif Mubarick, Patrick Asmah, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Fabio Gama, Salifu Mudasiru; Augustine Okrah, Osman Ibrahim, Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The game kicks off 3PM today
