Chief executive officer of Premier league side Ashantigold SC Emmanuel Frimpong has disclosed his side has set aside over 500,000 US Dollars for the clubs CAF confederation cup campaign.
An elated Frimpong in disclosing a mega sports kit deal with iGimel sports wear of the UK maintains it is the club’s target to go past the semi Finals stage of the competition.
“Our target is the semi finals stage of the competition, and the aim is to put Ashantigold on the African Football map as one of the biggest Football club” Emmanuel Frimpong told Ash Fm in Kumasi.
The club stands to benefit over $200,000 in cash reward from their new kit sponsors should the club qualify to the semi finals of the Confederation cup.
Mr Frimpong who took over the club as its CEO from Ghana FA exco Member Frederick Acheampong seeks to build a formidable brand with the club, and to regain its glorious moments in both local and international Football.
Mr Frimpong hinted on building a strong squad base to supplement the first time with the introduction of the youth side into the team.
“We are searching for young talented players to help the experience once to reach our target”.
The club is also seeking government support going into the CAF confederation cup.
