Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold SC, Frederick Acheampong says the club had to acquiesce by the decision of the Normalization Committee after their meeting with GHALCA not to present any club for CAF club competitions next year.
Frederick Acheampong reveals that, Ashanti Gold are in a better position to accept the challenge in Africa but had to make do with the decision.
He lays out the preparedness of the club’s readiness to venture in Africa with the club’s financial clouts and the quality at their disposal.
“For Ashanti Gold as a football club we are very much prepared to represent Ghana in Africa.
“In terms of materials we have, we thought we are a very good side and financially we are very strong.
“But we cannot act in isolation since it is a decision of the entire meeting and we might have to accept (the decision),” he told Luv FM in Kumasi.
He believes accepting not to participate in Africa came as a result of the massive endorsement given by clubs to stay away from Africa which Ashanti Gold did not want to isolate from.
