The former Wa All Stars FC anchorman refused to rule out the Miners out of the title challenge but hinted that a title will be a bonus at the end of the season.

Shafiq Muntari, who marked his premier league debut away to Medeama SC, revealed that his side are not bent on lifting the Ghana Premier League as they take the season game by game basis. The Miners anchor man openly confirm his personal admiration for the Ghana Premier League trophy but that collectively they are just enjoying their football and not bent on lifting the major trophy at stake.

Speaking to 442gh.com on the title aspirations for AshGold SC, Shafiq Muntari played down their title ambitions with 20 games still to play for in the campaign.

“For Now we are just enjoying our football and taking the season game by game basis. We are looking at our next match and not beyond that at least for now. For instance we are currently planning for only Eleven Wonders after which we will think of our next opponent.

“If we find ourselves in a position where the league becomes a possibility or a reality then we can look at that. For now we are just looking at how to play our next match as we still have over 60 points to play for. We are taking our season one step at a time”, Shafiq Muntari told 442gh.com.

Ashgold SC last won the domestic championship in 2014/15 but are currently atop of the Ghana premier league after 10 rounds of league matches. Charles Kwablah Akunor and his Elephant Boys seems to have found their missing souls in recent times with some quality football on parade.2018-05-02 08:18:57Ashgold SC
