Newly appointed head coach of Ashantigold SC Roberto Landi have joined the campaign to fight the Covid-19 with a plea for Ghanaians to adhere to instructions from the Ghana Health Services.
The veteran trainer inked a one year deal with the Miners but had to suspend his flight to Ghana because of the dreaded COVID 19 predominantly taking over Italy as a country.
In an exclusive interview with 442gh.com, the 63 years-old Italian trainer updated followers of the Miners and Ghanaians in general ahead of his arrival in Ghana.
“I am here in Italy myself and my family is safe but the situation in Italy is very serious. We cannot leave the house because it is the only way to defeat the Corona virus that is transmitted only through the contact so you must stop physical contact”, the veteran trainer told 442gh.com.
Landi urged everyone to follow the precautions give by Ghana medical Association and the Government as the only way to defeat the virus.
The Italian trainer signed one year contract with Ashantigold and he left Ghana to Italy because of the Corona virus halting all sporting activities across the globe.
The 63-year old also handled a few clubs in Africa- Al Tersana Tripoli (Libya), El Gouna (Egypt) and Lusaka FC in Zambia.
The UEFA A Pro License holder was Goalkeepers’ coach for the US Men’s National Team for at the 1990 (Italy) and 1994 (USA) FIFA World Cup finals.
