Bechem United Chief Executive Officer Professor Nana Darlington emphatically refused to throw his weight behind the premature cancelation of 2019/20 Ghana Premier League Season.
The tough talking football administrator opted not to throw his weight behind voices calling for the official truncation of the new expanded domestic season.
Football activities in the country have been put on hold due to coronavirus pandemic with 152 official cases of the virus recorded in Ghana.
On Monday New Edubiase United President Yakubu Abdul Salam joined calls for the truncation of the league to avoid mass transfer of the COVID 19 across the football fraternity.
However In an exclusive interview with Light FM, Prof Darlington opined that, it is too early to cancel the league because the country missed football.
“It’s too early to call off the league because many teams have prepared a lot which demands continuity”
“It is my prayer that this plague virus vanishes out of this world for us to enjoy our beautiful game.”
