The Black Maidens had one foot in Uruguay going into Sunday’s match having won the first leg 9-0 in Djibouti, and they were able to better that performance by one goal and stroll to qualification for Uruguay 2018.
Ghana opened the scoring in the 5th minute through Abdulai Mukarama before Fuseina Mumuni added the second in the 10th minute.
Abdulai Mukarama was on fire and she added two more goals in the first half, first in the 13th minute and in the 23rd minute to end the first half 4-0.
Back from recess and it was the same old story as the Ghanaians continued from where they left off.
Abdulai Mukarama again got the fifth goal, her fourth on the day in the 48th minute.
The goals galore continued for Ghana as Nina Norshie scored two goals in the 65th and 73rd minutes before Victoria Teye, Barikisu Rahaman and Azuma Bugrie added one goal each to record an emphatic 10-0 score line at the Cape Coast stadium.
