Asante Kotoko defender Ismail Ganiyu is delighted to have made this debut for the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé.
Ismail Abdul Ganiyu has been a joy to watch so far this season for the Porcupine Warriors in the ongoing Ghana Premier League and was rewarded with a debut against South Africa and São Tomé.
The centre back was outstanding in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with South Africa on Thursday and a win against São Tomé on Sunday.
Ganiyu earned confidence from Coach CK Akonnor who decided to start the former Wa All Stars and Karela United player.
Ghana defeated São Tomé to finish at the top of the table in Group C with 13 points, picking four points out of a possible six.
Ganiyu who was very instrumental in the two games for the Black Stars took to social media to thank Andre yew and Mubarak Wakaso for the support during his time with the national team.
