442gh.com can exclusively report that more than 20 Ghanaian players and their clubs have received invites from the Ghana Football Association for the Country’s next World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in October despite the absence of a coach.
Our sources within clubs in Germany, Spain, France, and England have confirmed the players have been given invitation from the Ghana Federation for the double header in October.
it is not known who at the Ghana FA is sending the invitation letters to the players as the Association is yet to name a successor to former Coach Charles.
The source also disclosed that majority of the players who made the squad for the opening fixture against South Africa and Ethiopia have already been contacted with letter to their clubs seeking their release.
In Holland Kudus Mohammed and his Ajax club received their letters earlier this week while the quartet in England were also handed invites from the top hierarchy of the Ghana FA acting in the absence of the head coach.
German Based Daniel Kofi Kyereh will return to the squad as he and his St. Pauli club have been notified to release the forward for the double header clash against Zimbabwe in Cape Coast and Harare.
The concern of the call up remains who at the FA sanctioned the invitations without the arrival of a new coach for the team, and also confirms the allegations of interference in the call up of players for the Black Stars.
Countries have 14 days to notify clubs of their interest in having players play for the National team, and with only 15 days the the Black Stars World cup Qualifier, the Association is racing behind time to invite players for the assignment with no coach and assistant following the sacking of Charles Akonnor and his two assistants earlier this month
