The former Ghana Black Stars gaffer is yet to be registered by the Porcupine warriors according to our checks with the Ghana FA and the Club Licensing board, and therefore not eligibile to feature for the side in their first game of the second round.
The Kumasi Based side announced the arrival of the experienced Mariano Barreto to the club, but yet to complete formalities with the Ghana FA.
Our checks revealed Abdulai Gazale was still the head coach of Asante Kotoko in the books of the club Licensing board.
If Mr Barreto sits at the dugout on Saturday against Eleven Wonders, the club would be liable to sanctions ranging from fines to loss of points for ‘fielding an unqualified coach’.
The Club Licensing board requires all clubs to present to the board the list of its officials, including players, Coaches, Management members and Board of directors before and during the course of the season.
Under article 4.2 of the Club Licensing regulations, clubs are required to have head coaches for their first teams with the requisite qualifications, the regulations goes on the prescribe the punishment setforth should a licence Applican fail to fulfill the requirements including sanctions varying from Fines to points deductions.
Section 9 of article 4.4 of the regulations requires clubs to notify the Licensing Authority of any significant change in personnel after submission of licensing documents.

be notified of any change occurring after submission of licensing documents by a certain deadline”
Since the club had in the past received the license to operate with Abdulai Gazale in Charge, Asante Kotoko hs a duty to notify the Licensing Authority of the arrival of Mariano Barreto to take charge of the first Team.
