Ghana’s sole representative for the 2018/19 CAF interclub championship Asante Kotoko SC have lined up 3 international friendly matches ahead of their return to continental football later in the month.
The Baba Yara based outfit have reportedly agreed to host Ivorian powerhouse Asec Mimosa in Ghana as part of their preparation for the impending CAF Confederation campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors have confirmed November 13, 2018 as the date for the first game involving an unnamed Togolese side before a similar game against another Ivorian team in Abidjan 5 days later.
Sources close to the rebranded Kumasi based side hinted at the arrival of Assec Mimosa with the return leg expected to be staged at the noisy Baba Yara stadium.
Communications Director of Asante Kotoko SC, Lawyer Sarfo Duku, confirmed the fixture schedule on FOX 97.9 FM as CK Akunnor’s men look extend their recent scoring spree.
“We have lined up three friendly matches to play after our 10-day camping in Takoradi. On 13th November we will play an Ivorian side in Ivory Coast , 18th November we will host a Togolese club in Kumasi and follow it with a return leg of the Ivorian Club in Kumasi before our confederation Cup campaign”, Lawyer Sarfo Duku revealed on FOX 97.9 FM.
Asante Kotoko SC have enjoyed an impressive off season with some top class performances exhibited in their recent friendly matches led by the back-to-back demolition or arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak SC.
