Ghana’s sole representative in the CAF Champions League, Hearts of have left Accra for Morocco ahead of their preliminary second leg tie against Wydad Athletic Club.
The Phonians left the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Thursday evening at about 5:00 pm. The team are expected to make a transit in Dubai where their arch-rivals are currently doing their pre-season.
Hearts of Oak are likely to touch down in Casablanca in the early hours of Friday to start their preparations for the game which is slated for Sunday October 24, 2021.
The continental club masters are going into the match with a slim 1-0 advantage as they seek to make it into the money zone of Africa’s Premier club football competition.
Hearts of Oak are the reigning Ghana Premier League and MTN FA Cup champions and have set their sight on regaining their lost glory on the African continent.
The Accra based club won the CAF Champions League in 2000 and the CAF Confederations Cup in 2004.
