Black Stars Head Coach, Charles Kwabla, Akunnor has set sight on winning the African Cup of Nations trophy for Ghana.
Ghana last won the trophy in 1982 and since has come close to winning it one several occasions.
In an interview with Kumasi based Kessben FM, the former Black stars forward said he has made it his ‘mission’ to win the African showpiece for Ghana.
“My aim and mission is to end the long trophy drought of the Black Stars and win the AFCON tournament for Ghana”,
However, Akunnor called on Ghanaian to rally behind the team in the quest to end the trophy drought.
“Winning the AFCON won’t come easy at all and I therefore urge all Ghanaians to come on board and offer their endless support to the Black Stars in our quest to win the coveted AFCON trophy again.
Qualifies for the 2021 edition of the AFCON will resume in March with Ghana leading Group C with 9 points.
