Congress Decides : Alhaji DS Yahaya Narrowly Retain Upper West RFA Seat

The incumbent Upper West Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Daud Sadugu Yahaya has narrowly maintained his seat in a fiercely contested regional elective Congress.
The seasoned football administrator shook off threat from Alhaji Moro Ahmed Baba Pele with just three winning votes to maintain his seat as the RFA Chairman for the next four years.
Known as Biyad on the sporting sector, DS Yahaya polled 16 votes from the 36 Congress members to finish ahead of Baba Pele with 13 threatening votes.
Veteran FIFA Referee, Naa Hamidu Bomison finished the election with 7 votes in the historic exercise staged at the regional library.
Alhaji DS Yahaya, the pre-election favorite was expected to pick a landslide win ahead of the polls but ended just finishing slightly ahead of the unfancied Alhaji Baba Pele.
Pundits and fans of the game believe this will be the last tenure for Alhaji Biyad in what will be 17 years of leadership at the summit of the football fraternity in Upper West Region.
