Manchester City are closing in on the Premier League title after they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday evening.
Second-half goals from Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres were enough to see Palace beaten 2-0 at Selhurst Park.
Gabriel Jesus saw the back of the net in the 36th minute but the goal was canceled as the flag went up. A pass was lofted cross from deep by Fernandinho that was volleyed in well but it was a fairly straightforward decision and there is no great VAR delay for that one.
City got the opener through Sergio Aguero. The Argentine was fed the ball inside the box, his first touch was superb and his last was emphatic, into the roof of the net.
Pep Guardiola’s men got their second through Ferran Torres just after 84 seconds. Torres curled the ball left-footed beyond Guaita from the edge of the area.
The 2-0 victory for a largely second-string side moves Pep Guardiola’s men 13 points clear of Manchester United and up to 80 points already.
Manchester United can still get to 82 points but if they lose to Liverpool on Sunday then City will be crowned champions this weekend.
