Crystal Palace recorded a win in the opening day of the English Premier League by beating Southampton 1-0 at Sulhurst park.
The Eagles put up an incredible performance to snatch a deserved victory at home.
Wilfried Zaha’s lone strike handed the Roy Hodgson’s men all the needed points as they begin their season on a good note.
Winger Andrew Townsend picked up the Ivorian with a weighted cross before the latter volleyed home the only goal of the match, his 50th Premier League goal.
Ghanaian pair Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp got the chance to start the game for Palace with the latter going off in the 81st minute for new signing Eberechi Eze.
