Asante Kotoko legend Joe Debrah says playing for the club requires a lot of efforts, sacrifice and dedication which the current crop of players lack.
Joe Debrah, a household name during the 1990s in Ghana football shared his experience on the performance of the team in recent times especially after their elimination from the CAF Champions League by Sudanese side Al Hilal.
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko legend Joe Debrah says players of the past generation were far better and serious than players of today’s generation.
The former Ghana International was speaking in an interview on Happy FM’s Where Are They Program on the performance of the current team.
According to him, playing for Asante Kotoko requires a lot of sacrifice, dedication and hard work.
Speaking in an interview on Happy Fm, he said, “I watched the game against Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League. The current Kotoko squad needs to work very hard. They need to be doing extra training. Any team that faces Kotoko prepares adequately and very well. So the players must train and be ready for any team”.
He stated his willingness to work with the current team when his services are needed by the club.
“Nobody has ever approached me to work with Asante Kotoko. My doors are always opened and I am willing to work with Asante Kotoko”.
