In their Quest to represent Ghana at the Maiden CAF women Champions league, starting with the WAFU Zone B in Ivory Coast, Hasaacas Ladies are yet to hear from Members of Parliament from the Western region.
With an over flow of Financial support from well meaning Ghanaians including the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, National Sports Authority , Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah etc, Members of Parliament from the jurisdiction of the Ghanaian female Football Champions have gone AWOL.
Hasaacas Ladies are seeking to raise 300,000 Ghana Cedis for their trip to Ivory Coast, but with lack of strong financial background, the club has resorted to public appeal to enable them achieve their objective.
Chief executive officer of the club Mrs Evelyn Nsiah Asare speaking on Asempa FM’S Ultimate Sports Show said they are yet to hear from the MP’s in the Region.
“I called Andrew Egyapa Mercer MP for Sekondi Constituency but he didn’t answer, I tried reaching Mireku Duka MP for Tarkwa, including Text messages, yet non of them has responded, we sent letters to the western Regional Caucus in Parliament, but we are yet to get any response”. He said
The 17 Members of Parliament for the region are yet to commit any funds to the Club who are currently preparing in Prampram.
The Western region has 17 members of Parliament with 8 of them NDC whiles the Governing NPP has 9 members.
The club believes the support of these MP’s is crucial to their preparation towards to competition.
