Daniel Amartey sees 90 minutes in Leicester’s EFL cup loss to Arsenals

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey played full 90 minutes for the first time in two years when he featured in the Carabao cup third round match against Arsenals.

The 25-year-old was heavily involved in the game, displaying his sharpness against the Gunners after his long absence with injury.

It was the Ghanaian first competitive match in 23 months.

However, the former FC Copenhagen came under the spotlight after his late mistake saw Arsenal win the match comfortably.

Amartey broke his ankle against West Ham in ocotber 2018 following an innocuous challenge with Michail Antonio, leaving him on the sidelines for a minimum of six months.

A Christian Fuchs own goal and Eddie Nketiah’s poked finish gave Arsenal victory over Leicester City and set up a potential Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool.
