The former Torino hard tackler completed his loan switch to Empoli last week and has since been implanted straight into the starting XI of the returnees in the opening round of matches in the Italian topflight. .

The 26 year old feasted on his rich vein of experience in Italian football with some fine display on his debut game for Empoli as goals from Rude Krunic and Francesco Caputo won the game for the host.

 

Afriyie Acquah won several fouls for his new paymasters as he proved too quick for the opposition midfielders to contain. The Ghanaian ace lasted the full throttle of the game.
