‘Dormaa is not the type of ground for comebacks by visiting teams’ – Prince Acquah

Dormaa based Aduana Stars yesterday defeated Hearts of Oak by two goals to nil at the Agyemang Badu I Park on rescheduled matchday one of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League Season on Wednesday.
The match kicked off at exactly 3pm with a class one referee taking charge of proceedings in a game in which playing good football was as important for the fans at Dormaa as the scoreline.
The game was originally set to be played on the opening day of the season but had to be postponed due to the affection of Covid-19 cases in Hearts camp.
The Ogya Lads recorded their first win against Hearts of Oak. They had endured a slow start in their league season. They had lost one and drawn three of the previous games and were languishing in the relegation zone on the standings.
Prince Acquah was in sensational form as Aduana Stars new-found form continued at home with an emphatic 2-0 thumping of Hearts of Oak in Dormaa in the Ghana Premier League.
Aduana Stars midfielder Paul Acquah believes his side’s win over Hearts of Oak will give them the needed push to turnaround their season.
In an interview on Wontumi Tv, Prince Acquah said their game against Hearts of Oak was a difficult one. The former Asante Kotoko midfielder believes their win against Hearts of Oak will fuel the spirit of the players to relentlessly push for more success in the course of the game.
“The game was very difficult because looking at our performance from the start of the league, we had not won any match so we needed this win badly. So collectively we pushed to get the win. So we are happy for the result,” Acquah revealed.
Prince Acquah won the Man of the Match Award for his spectacular display, particularly for scoring a potential goal of the season.
“We needed this win so that in subsequent matches we get the motivation. So I think this win will push us for the next games coming,” he noted.
Dormaa is not the type of ground for comebacks by visiting teams and not many expected Hearts of Oak to do the unthinkable.
Aduana Stars now move to 7th on the league log and look to continue their fine form in Berekum this week as they face regional rivals Berekum Chelsea.
