The Ashanti Gold President labels late penalty awarded against his side in defeat to Medeama SC as a ‘big disgrace’ to the domestic league.
Medeama beat Ashanti Gold on Sunday at the Akoon Park after converting a late penalty to decide the tie.
Center referee Jacob Aduntera pointed to the spot after a ball hit the hand of Ashgold player in the box with few minutes to end proceeding.
Medeama striker Prince Opoku Agyemang stepped up and dispatched it beautifully in the nervy moment.
According to the Miners bank roller, the ball hit the hand of Medeama player instead.
“It is a disgrace for Ghana Football. Very very disgraceful. I said I won’t talk on radio but this is a disgrace. Looks like the (center) referee and the linemen wanted to robb Ashgold. The referee whistled for a penalty after the ball hit the hand of a Medeama player. It is a big disgrace…very very unfortunate.“ ‘Champion’ fumed in an audio aired on Oyerepa FM
