Ghanaian superpowers Asante Kotoko SC could be parading a fearsome squad when football resumes with some players making injury return to the club after a brief spell away. From their watertight midfield combo of Justice Blay, Salifu Mudasiru and Richard Senanu to their attacking machinery, Maxwell Konadu’s side might just sweep opposition teams apart on their peak.
The race for number one spot remains open with Kwame Baah making the most of his time whiles Felix Annan and is breathing heavily behind him. Felix Annan is expected to zoom his way into the starting machinery when football resumes. This leaves Asante Kotoko SC with the richest bench in the league possibly.
In defense, Ismail Ganiu is expected to partner Habib Mohammed whiles Christopher Nettey and Imoru Ibrahim stay glued to their full back roles. The quartet will undoubtedly seal the defensive unit of the club after some shaky displays in the opening 15 fixtures of the season.
In midfield, Maxwell Konadu has the luxury of unleashing different types of midfield combinations with the arrival of Emmanuel Sarkodie. However, the gradual return of Senanu means fans can witness the club’s best assemblage at the center of the pitch.
Richard Senanu and Justice Blay are set to screen the defense whiles Salifu Mudasiru moves up the pitch in a diamond three men midfield.
Up front, Kwame Opoku will be flanked on either side by Maxwell Baako Messi and Emmanuel Gyamfi Pajaro. The attacking trio boasts of pace, creativity and power in the final third of the season and has played together at various stages in their career. Maxwell Baako played with Kwame Opoku at Karela United FC whiles Emanuel Gyamfi sparkled at the Wa park as well.
