Exclusive: Asante Kotoko SC Hints At Timeline For Announcing New Head Coach

Ghanaian super powers are set to announce a new head coach after the acrimonious exit of Maxwell Kwabena Konadu from the club’s managerial dugout.

The Kumasi-based side fired their gaffer for a slow start to the season and appointed assistant, Johnson Smith, as the interim manager for the team.

442gh.com has been reliably informed that the 1983 CAF Champions league are set to appoint a new manager in the second week of January 2021 with negotiations at advanced stages.

The identity of the new manager is not known for now with reports linking the club to a number of expatriate coaches.

Chief Executive Officer of the club Nana Yaw Amponsah, will lead a team of consultants to appoint a new head coach.

In the meantime, assistant manager, Johnson Smith, will lead the club for their CAF Champions league first leg clash with Sudanese side Al Hilal.

Former Black Stars trainer, Kwasi Appiah, has been strongly linked with the club alongside Ibrahim Tanko.
