Exclusive: Government of Ghana endorses 5 Months Extension for Normalization committee; awaiting FIFA’s approval on March 31

442gh.com can exclusively reveal that the Government has endorsed a 5 month extension of mandate for the GFA Normalization committee.

According to the source, the government endorsed an August 31 deadline for the Normalization committee to complete its mandate, one month after the final of the AFCON.

Our source at the Jubilee house reveals, the President of the normalization committee Dr Kofi Amoah sent the proposal to the presidency insisting, his committee needed enough time to Prepare the National team for the AFCON, and to also complete their mandate of “Cleaning up” the FA.

The source reveals that, the Normalization committee said combining the mandate of FIFA at the GFA and preparing the national team for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt was going to have a toll on the performance of the team, and therefore wanted the extension, to concentrate on preparing a formidable Black Stars which will conquer Africa.

The source stated that, the minister of youth and sports Hon. Isaac Asiamah did not welcome the call, but had to be impressed upon by senior officials at the seat of government to accept this new timeline, and will lead a delegation to Football House in Zurich to convince FIFA officials on this new development.

FIFA formed the Normalization committee on September 13, With a mandate that is expected to end on March 31.
