Association football thrives best with human network and collective teamwork as seen in any successful football club. The linkage between the various departments in any administration is usually dubbed as the fulcrum around which the success or failure of the administration will revolve. A visible bond around a certain Dreams FC officials led by the Believers tag, eventually manifested on October 25, 2019. Guess what happenend, the unique nuclear family earned the trust of the football family as the Believers finally ticked the boxes for Kurt Okraku In an emphatic win at the Ghana FA Elective Congress.

Dubbed as the wild card heading into the Ghana FA election, Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku didn’t just belie his status as a first timer, he virtually retired his opponents football career. A resounding second round poll sent his rivals into Kigali bush with no traces till date. That is not the thematic issue but how Kurt rose from a fan to the highest seat in Ghana football.

Like many administrators, the current FA president traces his roots from a football ridden family that saw his father leading the administration of Accra Hearts of Oak SC. Following the footsteps of his father, Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku added education, marketing, socialization, human networking and youthful exuberance to his game while rising up the ladder. He opted for Dreams FC as the name of his football club and chose the tag, We Believe. What was he believing in? Who needed his believe? We now know he believed in his unique qualities as an administrator. From his packaging of then third tier side to the fragrance of this current Dreams FC, Kurt Okraku used visible evidence to campaign for the vacant GFA Presidential seat.

After earning reputation as an asset to the country, then FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, through congress, appointed Kurt as the MTN FA Cup Committee Chairman. That was the marriage that will break the albumen and unleash the real Kurt to the football world. He barely missed a heartbeat with revival, resurrection and reinstallation of the domestic FA Cup. An epic unmissable grand finale between Hearts and Kotoko at the Tamale Stadium, won Kurt Okraku this GFA President. Many believed in his approach.

One question people kept asking is, who is behind this man? What is his secret? How different is he from his peers? The answer is just one. He has a HUMAN NETWORK around him. Need I mention names? Well, I know of Ibrahim Dossey, Derrick Okraku, Sheikh Tophic, Mohammed Ameenu Shadow, and a host of other ‘family’ members around him. They believed in their worth and project at hand and it paid off. They are showing their mangerial nous thus far with virtually explosive usage of social media to relay every single activity at the FA. Head of the game changing brand, ‘Bogdan Osikere’ has been spotted virtually on same shadow with the FA capo. Don’t get him wrong, they are guiding their jewel from encroachers at a time a clean mind is needed to plan better things.

The next four years could as well make or break Kurt Okraku as an administrative pillar. His early days though, gave us a clue of what Ghanaians stand to gain from this mordern day administrator. Having already succeeded in ressurecting interest from disgruntled fans, many believe Kurt Okraku might be the missing piece in the Ghanaian jigsaw puzzle.

Like he started, He Believed, They Believe, Ghanaians Believed and the football fraternity will have to believe as well. What has Kurt to show us for believing in him? The domestic season is heavily pregnant and is expected to give birth on Saturday, December, 27, 2019.
