Ex- Hearts Of Oak skipper Thomas Abbey has finally opened up on his surprise exit from the club after seven remarkable years together.
The utility player joined the Phobians from division one outfit Windy Professional and went on to become one of the most complete footballers on the local scene.
The former Windy Professional FC midfielder then traded Accra Hearts of Oak SC for pastures anew in Egypt with Ismailia FC In 2018.
Abbey , 26 years old, was an influential player in the Hearts of set up and scored an incredible 13 goals in 28 appearances for the club during the 2017/2018 season.
However speaking on Angel TV, the former Hearts of Oak skipper open up on the reason why he left Accra Hearts of Oak but did not rule out a sensational return to the club.
“I left Hearts of Oak because I was not happy with the kind of contract they decided to offer me, after serving the club for seven years”, Thomas Abbey told Angel TV
“The contract was given to me after our game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in Tamale”
“I am a free agent now and ready to sign for Hearts of oak if only they give me good offer, why not, football is my job.” , He added
The former Hearts of Oak captain Thomas Abbey was released by Malaysian top-flight side PKNP after sustaining a long-term injury.
