Former Accra Hearts of Oak SC talismanic defender has revealed the real reasons behind his untimely exit from the Oak family.
Christopher Bonney, a onetime poster boy for the Phobians lost his place in the starting XI of the team and opted not to renew his contract in one of five such players.
With the likes of Joseph Esso, Benjamin Agyare and Bernard Arthur all leaving the club ahead of the new season, Christopher Bonney updated followers of the capital based side on the reasons behind his personal decision not to renew his contract with the club.
Speaking on Kumasi based Otec FM, Bonney accepted the fact that he lost his place in the team and decided against extending his contract only to sit on the bench.
“I didn’t renew my contract with Hearts because I was not fitting into the squad of the new coach. It would be time-wasting if I continued my stay at Hearts of Oak” Bonney told Kumasi based OTEC FM.
“It’s very fortunate and a big privilege to play for both Kotoko and Hearts. It’s not easy for a player to serve the two biggest clubs in Ghana. Though my doors are open for any local club, I am now focusing on a foreign contract”, the former Ebusua Dwarfs FC right back added.
Accra Hears of Oak SC officially announced the departure of five stars after their recent signing spree that brought in the likes of Nuru Sulley and Abednego Tetteh.
