The Disciplinary Committee(DC) Ghana Football Association(GFA) is release the much-awaited ruling on the alleged match-fixing scandal involving Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold SC and relegated Inter Allies FC.
This was revealed by the President of the nation’s football governing body, Mr. Kurt E. S. Okraku in his address during the official launch of the 2021-22 Ghana Football Seaosn on Tuesday.
According to the GFA Capo, his outfit are working around the clock to release the ruling on the alleged match-fixing before the new football campaign kicks off on Friday.
He noted that, he hope the ruling will be deterent enough scare all stakeholders from engaging in acts which bring the names of the respective leagues into disrepute.
Last season’s match between Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies became the subject of unpleasant commentary when the latter’s defender and skipper came into the second half just to put two goals past his own goalkeeper.
Subsequent to that, the Inter Allies captain, Hashmin Musah in a number of interviews disclosed that he did what he did just to ensure that the scoreline of the match do not go according to plan for some players and officials who have placed “correct score” bet on the match.
The GFA immediately launched an investigation on the matter and have since heard from, and charged a number of players and officials of the two clubs.
The Disciplinary Committee of the GFA has now completed its findings and a ruling on the matter will be made public in the coming days.
