Ex-Chelsea star Michael Essien has been appointed Coach of Sabail FK U19 side.
Essien has been playing for the Azerbaijani side since 2019 after joining the Club from Indonesian outfit Persib Bandung.
Sabail FK have now handed the Ghanaian international a new role to supervise their junior side.
The 36-year-old is yet to announce his retirement meaning he remains a player of Sabail FK senior team despite earning himself the coaching role.
The former Black Stars midfielder moved to Azerbaijan after successful times with Bastia, Olympique Lyon, Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Panathiniakos.
He also made two FIFA World Cup appearances for Ghana thus in Germany 2006 and Brazil 2014.
His successful moments as a player came during his time with Chelsea when he won the three League titles as well as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
