The Ghana government has revealed its intention to construct a multipurpose 60,000 capacity stadium in the nation’s capital ahead of the 2023 All African Games set to be staged in Ghana.
The multipurpose facility is expected to be located either in a Prampram or Dodowaa as plans for the All African Games take immediate effect.
Ghana was granted the hosting rights for the 13th edition of the All African Games after a successful bidding process and is expected to provide avenues for the multiple disciplines ahead of the championship.
Using Greater Accra region as the host city, the government is expected to erect a modern sporting edifice that will provide the platforms for the varied disciplines in the rebranded Pan African Games.
Ghana already has the Cape Coast Stadium and the Essipong as one of the best sporting infrastructures in the country.
