Ghana President Nana Akufo Addo ‘forgetfully’ leaves Football suspended for the 6th month running.

 

The Government of Ghana has maintained its suspension of All contact sports including Football until further notice taking the ban on Football to 6 straight months

The President of Ghana in delivering his 15th national address after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic failed to give any updateon the future of all contact sports in the country.

The President in his 14th address to the nation allowed for the National female U20 and U17 Football teams who are preparing for their various international qualifiers should begin camping, the office of the President further paved way for the male U17 and U20 to also go into camping earlier in August.

 

The Government of Ghana imposed a ban on all Football activities in the country from March 15, a situation that led to cancellation of the Ghanaian Football season.

With the new directive, clubs like Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold who have been selected by the Ghana FA to participate in the CAF inter Club competitions will have their programs put on hold until the Government otherwise decides.

The President’s silence in the resumption of Football casts lots of doubts in the plans of the Football Association who has proposed to start the next league season in October.
