Ghana vs Mali Turkey clash a done deal

Ghana’s Black Stars will be facing their Malian counterparts in an international friendly game to be played in the Turkish capital in October.

The game will be first for the Stars in almost a year, after COVID-19 prevented the March double header against Sudan in the CAF AFCON qualifiers.

The October friendly falls on the second FIFA International break week where national teams are allowed to play qualifiers or friendlies to test the readiness of their squad.

Ghana has been ‘Flirting’ with Teams in Asia and North Africa for other games with Africa Champions Algeria , and Asian Giants Iran all in talks to play the Black Stars during the October break.

The double friendly header offers coach Charles Akonnor the first opportunity to see his team after taking over the Job in January

Black Stars coach CK Akonnor will use the exhibition match to prepare for his first competitive matches in November against Sudan in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header.

Ghana Maintained her position of 46th in the last FIFA ranking, and a win in the friendlies is expected to boost the points accumulation of the Black Star before the November qualifiers

Ghana last played Mali on January 21, 2017 at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon where Asamoah Gyan’s goal secured a 1-0 win in Group D clash.
