Retired Ghana international Wilberforce Mfum has called for a quota selection for the home based players in the Black Stars after their recent AFCON snub.
Three home based players made the preliminary squad for the Dubai camping with only Felix Annan the only player on the local league to have made the grid.
The legendary attacker suggested the management of the Black Stars to give a quota of the 23 -man in any major tournament after another AFCON blacklist.
Speaking on Atinka FM TOTAL Sports, the 1965 AFCON winner tabled the delicate suggestion with many pundits endorsing the notion.
“There should be a policy that will at least allow 4 or 5 home Base players to the black stars of Ghana whenever Ghana is preparing for any tournament”, Wilberforce Mfum on Atinka total Sports.
The legendary attacker remains one of Ghana’s most celebrated goal poachers in history.
